Choose a release

Open the latest GitHub release and select the package for your operating system and processor.
Run the Windows installer from the release, or install with WinGet:

Let the runtime initialize

Launch Koharu and wait for the project browser. First launch can take longer while native packages download. Model files download when you first use the selected model.Downloads use GitHub release assets, Hugging Face, and backend package repositories. Keep the app open while downloads finish; the activity center shows progress.

Create your first project

Follow the quickstart with one readable manga page. Check hardware and runtimes if device initialization fails.

Install updates

Release builds check a signed GitHub release feed. When an update is offered, let the download complete before restarting Koharu.
Use a release build for translation work. Use the development setup when you want to change Koharu’s code.
