Platform overview

  • Koharu provides tools for creating and managing manga translation projects, including uploads, annotations, realtime collaboration, proofreading, and exports.
  • Using the platform means you accept these Terms and any policies referenced here, including our Privacy Policy.

Accounts and eligibility

  • You must be able to form a binding contract and follow applicable laws to use Koharu. If you are using the platform on behalf of a team or company, you confirm you have authority to do so.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity that happens under your account.
  • Project owners manage roles (owner, collaborator/translator, proofreader) and can update or revoke a member's access when needed.

Project content and licenses

  • You retain ownership of the manga pages, annotations, translations, comments, and any other content you upload or create.
  • You grant Koharu a non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit your content as needed to operate the service (including collaboration, previews, exports, and backups).
  • You must only upload content you have the right to use, and you are responsible for obtaining permissions from copyright holders before sharing or collaborating on a project.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use Koharu to violate any law, infringe intellectual property, or distribute malicious, harassing, or defamatory material.
  • Avoid automated scraping, rate-limit bypassing, or attempts to access private projects without authorization.
  • We may review, restrict, or remove content that appears to break these rules or applicable law.

Availability and changes

  • We strive to provide reliable access, but the service may experience downtime, maintenance windows, or updates that change or remove features.
  • We may modify these Terms from time to time. Continuing to use Koharu after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Termination

  • You can stop using Koharu at any time. Project owners can remove members from their projects.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or put the platform, other users, or rights holders at risk.
  • Upon termination we may disable access to projects, but we may retain backups as permitted by law and our retention practices.

Disclaimers and liability

  • Koharu is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that the service will meet every requirement.
  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, Koharu is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
