# Keyboard shortcuts

> Default tools, navigation gestures, selection, and undo commands.

Tool and editing shortcuts apply while a project is open and an input, textarea, or editable text region is not focused.

## Tools

| Tool | Key |

| Select | `V` |
| Text | `T` |
| Brush | `B` |
| Eraser | `E` |
| Color picker | `I` |
| Remove | `J` |
| Pan | `H` |
| Fit Window | `0` |

Change tool characters in **Settings → Shortcuts**.

## Navigation

| Action | Gesture |
| - | - |
| Pan temporarily | Hold `Space` or the middle button and drag |
| Pan | Scroll; `Shift` + scroll pans horizontally |
| Zoom at the pointer | `Ctrl` + scroll |
| Change brush diameter | `Alt` + scroll with Brush, Eraser, or Remove |
| Cancel gesture and clear selection | `Escape` |
| Fit the active page | `0` by default |

The active tool does not change while `Space` is held. Switching away from Koharu cancels an unfinished canvas gesture.

## Editing

| Action | Windows / Linux | macOS |

| Undo | `Ctrl+Z` | `Command+Z` |
| Redo | `Ctrl+Shift+Z` | `Command+Shift+Z` |
| Select all editable page layers | `Ctrl+A` | `Command+A` |
| Delete selected layers | `Delete` or `Backspace` | `Delete` or `Backspace` |

<Tip>
  Use a unique character for each tool. If bindings conflict, the Fit Window key is checked first,
  then the first matching tool in toolbar order wins. Custom bindings reset when Koharu restarts.

Shortcuts affect the desktop interface, not the exported page.
